I really admire
the art of bento boxes. People make such an effort making the cutest
lunches and I wish I would have such vegetable cutting skills. I
bought some rice moulds in animal and other shapes, and wanted to
make a nice lunch for my partner and I. This is my first attempt
using the moulds, but I'm sure there will be many more as it was a
lot of fun.
I served the rice
onigiri with fresh vegetables and a soy-chilli-mirin-sesameseed oil
sauce. It was a tasty and filling lunch and brought a smile to my
face in the middle of a hectic working day.
i've always admired them too, so cute and makes lunch a little more novel. Did you get the nori stamps for the faces with it or did you cut your own?
ReplyDeleteI didn't get the nori stamps and started despairing a bit with the cutting, but in the end it was all more rewarding. :)
DeleteI would love to open my lunch and have it looking at me in this way - so cute - we have four of the moulds that you have but I haven't been using them for ages - sometimes I use them for school lunches
ReplyDeleteNice to hear that you like it and even have the same moulds. Maybe you'll use them more again in the future.
